When it comes to Brisbane cocktail bars, both Death & Taxes and Dr Gimlette are two of our faves. Something about the dark, moody interiors and highly creative cocktails make going out for drinks at these two venues a real treat. Now, the mixology masterminds have opened a third cocktail bar, tucked away in Burnett Lane. Antico is inspired by the small, intimate bars that populate major cities in Italy, with a focus on classic cocktails alongside Italian bar snacks.
Like its predecessors, Antico has plenty of exposed brick walls, mood lighting and cocktails that utilise locally sourced ingredients.
The 50-seat venue boasts an open-plan design with split levels, offering a range of seating options, including sunken seating and mezzanine booth space designed to cater to small groups.
Antico is softly illuminated by candlelight, creating a warm, ambient atmosphere to sip cocktails in.
As for what’s on the menu — you’ll find a selection of ten tasty cocktails. Think negronis mixed with custom-made gin and Aperol Spritzes for the warmer months. Beer, wine, and an exclusive selection of high-end spirits are also available.
To make you feel like you’re in Rome even more, Antico is also serving up a small menu of Italian-style bar snacks, including bruschetta and burrata.
The cocktail bar doesn’t take bookings, and is walk-in only.
You can find Antico at 48 Burnett Lane, Brisbane City.
Open Sunday to Thursday from 4pm – 1am, Saturday & Sunday from 4pm – 2am.
