The Stunning Botero House Is Hosting Two Sunday Long Lunches With Drink Pairings

Any Given Sunday is a two chef and one sommelier collaboration full of flavour.

Botero House is known for its coffee, its food and its community spirit. The cafe sources its ingredients from local providers—the coffee beans, although sourced globally, are roasted in the Clarence Valley—and cooks its meals from scratch to further showcase the beauty and range of ingredients available so close to home.

However, this Sunday 6 June and Sunday 20 June Botero House is lending its fabulous space inside the historic three-storey building on Adelaide Street to Any Given Sunday.┬áThe chef and sommelier pop-ups have taken a back seat since 2019 so you can bet we’re excited to see their return this month.

The Sunday long lunches will be a set menu featuring both savoury and sweet plates. Diners will begin with a snack before moving onto two entrees. Next, they will be served a main with a side dish before the meal is completed by a dessert. All the dishes will be paired with a drinks package (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available) to truly highlight the combination of flavours on the plate.

Both menus will be super-seasonal so diners can expect to be tasting and eating the freshest of produce from the week leading up to the event.

The trio behind the pop-up restaurant activations consists of chefs Mal Meiers and Tabitha Thomson and sommelier Kate Christensen. And although Tabitha is a new addition to the team (Mal and Kate toured their pop-up activations around the world in 2017 taking them as far as France, London and Tokyo), she has brought a wealth of experience as a butcher as well as cooking at the Queensland Cricketers Club, Arc dining and Gerard’s Bistro where she met Mal.

Expect to see Any Given Sunday pop-up at many more venues in Brisbane over the next few months, but for now you can book yourself a seat at Botero House and celebrate sustainable, fresh and delicious dishes on Sunday. Bookings are available from 12pm to 2:30pm. Make note that you will need to include the drinks package when reserving your seat.

The experience is $85 per person with the added options of an alcoholic drinks package for $55 or non-alcoholic drinks package for $35.
