Summer and seafood go hand in hand, there’s no denying that. Flaky, mouthwatering fish and crunchy hot chips. Preferably after a salty swim at the beach. This week, the best fish N chips in Australia have been crowned at Seafood Industry Australia’s Great Australian Fish & Chip Awards. There was a whopping 300,000 votes in total. And ultimately, Costa’s Seafood Café in Capalaba won.

Costa’s Seafood Café is just a short half an hour drive east of the Brisbane CBD, so you’re pretty much on the way to the beach if you want to make a day out of it. The local (and now national) favourite serves up deliciously fresh and cooked seafood. But it’s their fish and chips that have turned eyes and satisfied customers. Their menu has a wide variety of fish to choose from—everything from barramundi and coral trout to red emperor and cod.

Aside from their delicious fish N chips, Costa’s also has oysters, Moreton Bay Bugs, burgers, salads such as caesar, potato and coleslaw, as well as cakes, gelato, trifle, and more. So why not pop in for a sit-down meal at the café or stock up on some fresh seafood favourites for your Christmas lunch?
