Critically-acclaimed and genre-defining debut album Silent Alarm by British band Bloc Party turns twenty this year, as does the band itself. If this fact makes you feel old, the obvious cure is to go to their show at the Riverstage and sing your heart out to anthems like Helicopter, Banquet and This Modern Love.
The band last toured here in 2023, playing with their peers in indie rock stardom, Interpol. This time, however, Bloc Party’s going all in on the nostalgic celebrating and will be performing the iconic record in its entirety, along with other hits along their hugely influential pieces, and that’s not all.
Supporting the headliners, American alt-pop royalty Young The Giant will be playing in Australia for the first time in no less than 14 years. The California-born band has, of course, released plenty of music since then, so fans and fans-to-be won’t want to miss their appearance on Aussie stages.
