Held at the Brisbane Showgrounds, this celebration of all things Brazil will have you dancing to the sounds of Brazil’s hottest artists, marvelling at the intricate, colourful costumes — maybe even getting a makeover of your own, with their Carnival Glam service — and partying all day with a community of passionate revellers in an authentic carnaval experience!
With a main stage and an electronic stage, there will be something for music lovers of all genres and, for those with two left feet who would rather leave the dancing to the professionals, a stunning samba parade! A variety of food trucks serving up mouth-watering traditional Brazilian dishes, from sizzling and tender BBQ meats to sweet treats, will keep bellies full and smiles on faces.
Although the event is for adults only from 3pm to 10pm, there is also a Family Day from 10am to 2pm, for those who want to introduce their little ones to all the fun and liveliness of carnaval! You can also expect dazzling samba performances and yummy food trucks at the family-friendly version but, additionally, there will be kid-friendly traditional Brazilian activities such as capoeira and footvolley that are sure to delight the whole family!
This giant festival has attracted over 5,000 party animals in previous years, and is set to be bigger than ever this year with flashy floats, non-stop music and contagious energy, so get your glitter ready because you won’t want to miss it! Practical information
This year’s Brazilian Carnival will take place on Saturday, March 21, from 10am to 2pm for families, and from 3pm to 10pm for the 18+ portion of the event.
Tickets for adults range from $63.35 to $159.35 on first release, so you’ll want to get yours soon! You can say obrigado to us later.
