Who doesn’t love some twinkling Christmas lights? What about thousands of them, duplicated thanks to their reflection in the water? If that sounds like something you wouldn’t miss, you’re in luck because gorgeous Bribie Island is lighting up with a stunning Christmas lights boat parade and the luminous procession is free for everyone to watch!
You’ll want to make sure you get the best spot to see everything from colourful dinghies to dazzling yachts decked out in thousands of LEDs sail by. If you want to be in the middle of the action and truly want to feel the spirit of the event, Pacific Harbour Marina is your best bet! You’ll have mouth-watering food trucks nearby serving everything from snacks and carnival food to drinks, and fresh seafood, so maybe bring a blanket with you and have a picnic dinner as you watch the vessels.

Or, if you’re looking for a quieter patch of grass, head to the new park at 170 Cosmos Avenue or to 84 Endeavour Drive, where you’ll be able to catch sight of the boats not once, but twice!
Not only that but, there will also be a laser show — best seen at the Pacific Harbour Marina, but visible from approximately 1km — that will play in bursts in between the passing flotilla, and local artists such as Grace Alexandra and The Real Bribie Gleemen performing live!

Practical information
The Bribie Island Christmas Lights Boat Parade will take place on Saturday, December 13. The food trucks will be open from 4pm to 8pm, and the parade starts at 7pm, lasting for a little over 2 hours.
Due to construction happening at Pacific Harbour Marina this year, there is reduced parking, as well as viewing space. There are no picnic tables or public seating, so don’t forget to bring chairs or picnic blankets!
