BrisAsia Festival is set for a show-stopping return this upcoming Lunar New Year, and it’s bringing with it a slew of festivities that’ll help you ring in the Year of the Dragon. Over three huge weeks from Thursday, February 1 to Sunday, February 18, you can get a taste of culturally rich Asia right here in Brisbane.
The 2024 edition of the festival is packed with events and experiences, uniting over 500 artists and creatives. You can expect to find everything from Lunar New Year celebrations to street festivals, authentic eats, live performances, dance parties, workshops, comedy, and more.
For the foodies, South Bank’s Fish Lane is the place to be. The action kicks off with Lush, a free Asian street festival on February 3, which’ll be packed with street art and an array of global cuisines. Then on February 4, Southside Dumpling Festival will kick off, with pop-up kitchens serving dumplings of all sorts, alongside live cultural performances to set the scene.
BrisAsia ParTEA is another event not to be missed. Popping up at Chinatown Mall on February 10, this party is a perfect chance to become immersed in the many different ways we make and drink tea.
More festival highlights include a street dance event, summer party, as well as an immersive live concert at Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.
