BrisAsia Festival is set for a show-stopping return this Lunar New Year, and it’s bringing with it a slew of festivities that’ll help you ring in the Year of the Snake. Over ten spectacular days from Friday January 31 to Sunday February 9, you can get a taste of culturally rich Asia right here in Brisbane.
The 2025 edition of the festival is packed with events and experiences, uniting world-class artists and creatives. You can expect to find everything from Lunar New Year celebrations to street festivals, authentic eats, live performances, dance parties, workshops, comedy, and more.
The fun will kick off with Southside by Night, at the iconic Unidus Community Centre, bringing together some of Brissy’s hottest hip-hop talent, artists, street cars and food all under one roof— or rather, sky.
For the foodies, South Bank’s Fish Lane is the place to be thanks to Lush on Fish Lane, a free Asian street festival on February 1, which’ll be packed with street art and an array of local favourites such as Southside Restaurant, Chu the Phat, and Bird’s Nest.
Then on February 2, Lunar New Year in the Gardens will bring fun for the whole family, with lion dancers and a martial arts display, live music, soundscapes, traditional dances, KPOP, Henna face painting and more!
More festival highlights include dance battles, stand-up comedy acts, Sunnybank’s rooftop party on February 8, as well as an immersive visual and audio meditation experience at Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium.
