Only a few months ago, Time Magazine named Brisbane one of the world’s best places, and rightfully so, in our opinion. There were two Australian destinations to make the top 50: Queensland’s capital and South Australia’s Kangaroo Island. Now, rideshare giant Uber has just released its annual Lost & Found index, naming Brisbane as Australia’s most organised city.
Well, least forgetful anyway, in that Brisbane has left behind the least amount of items for the second year in a row. Whereas, according to Uber, “Sydney and Perth forget everything but the kitchen sink.”
Based on the data collected, the day after April Fool’s Day was a doozy for forgetful Australians. April 2 was the period most items were left Australia-wide. Interesting!
What’s also interesting is some of the items people in Australia have left in Ubers the past year. Even more interesting than the cities being ranked from most to least organised.
“Uber’s annual Lost & Found Index is back for its seventh year and it’s more bizarre than ever,” says Hoa Nguyen, Head of Rider Operations at Uber ANZ.
“From a Harry Styles concert ticket to a taxidermied cat, Aussies have really outdone themselves when it comes to forgetfulness this year! The important thing to remember is that we do have a process if you suddenly realise you’ve left your phone, wallet or Harry Potter Wand in your driver’s car- head to the app for help and follow the prompts to retrieve your items.”
