We love an op shop in Brissy and its suburbs. So much so that we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to second-hand stores, but sometimes going to the same old— er, retro place is not cutting it.
Enter pop-ups: The temporary nature of a pop-up makes finding a pre-loved treasure all the more thrilling and special, and we’ve got a good one coming up!
Brisbane’s iconic Polish Club is set to transform into a retro-lover’s paradise with Fashion on the Move, popping up for a special, one-day event on Saturday, August 15.
What to expect
You’ll be treated to two floors of quality pre-loved and vintage fashion stalls, with clothing and accessories for everyone, and we mean everyone: there’ll even adorable handmade “pupper-jackets” to keep your pooch cozy!
Feel transported while you shop thanks to the retro vibes and Polish artefacts in their mid-century venue, and fuel up with mouth-watering authentic Polish food including handmade pierogi, grilled kranskys, traditional pastries and pączki (doughnuts).
You can even try a viral tromp l’oeil dessert, treats encasing fruit compotes, curds, and mousses inside a crisp chocolate shell shaped and painted to mimic real fruit!
Plus, if you’re feeling thirsty, head over to the bar, stocked with Polish beers, more than 30 flavours of vodka, and coffee and cocktails with a Polish twist, including their “Electric Coffee”, Ogorkita cocktail, and layered Dubai Chocolate vodka sip!
As for entertainment, you can’t miss “Folk Redux”, a mini fashion parade showcasing contemporary designs inspired by traditional Polish folk fabrics and motifs, showcasing how tradition can be given new life through creative reinterpretation.
All throughout, DJ Gaz will provide a backing track to this experience, spinning retro favourites on original vinyl and keeping spirits high!
Practical information
The Fashion on the Move pop-up at the Polish Club will take place on Saturday, August 15 from 11am to 3pm.
The fashion show will start at 12:30pm.
There is some onsite free parking and plenty of street parking nearby as well.
