Vibrant Fortitude Valley is getting a new restaurant, bar and club combo in the form of Goros, the long-awaited izakaya-style venue. Everything, from neon interiors to its authentic and mouth-watering menu, has been carefully curated and will transport to one of these traditional Japanese bars, while still maintaining a unique Brisbanite identity.
Chef Sean Barogo’s delicacies include Australian-influenced dishes like saltbush tempura with chilli miso mayo, straight-up traditional classics like handmade sushi and gyoza, TikTok-famous 10-yen toasties, and comforting finger-licking JFC (Japanese Fried Chicken), perfect for sharing — or not!
If you’re looking for some liquid courage before you hit the karaoke later, the drinks menu includes Japanese beers and spirits, as well as inventive cocktails like creamy matcha piña colada, and a refreshing sake spritz, not to mention the essential and interactive sake bomb!
Even before its official opening, Goros is already packed with fun, wacky events that’ll guarantee night after night of memories. Get ready for weekly watch parties of everything from Japanese classics to reality TV and anime, ping pong tournaments every six weeks, karaoke battles, bingo, and even a Takeshi’s Castle-inspired game (appropriately names Goros Castle), which has proven to be a huge hit in Sydney and will be making its Brisbane debut. All this plus, of course, DJs that’ll keep you dancing the night away.
