It’s nearly time to count down the best songs that played on Triple J in 2022, as voted by Australians. Now before we get into what events are going down in Brisbane for the countdown on January 28, let’s start off with what the Secret Media Australia team have voted for this year.
Everybody’s Saying Thursday’s The Weekend by DMA’s and GAY 4 ME by G Flip came up high on my top ten, whereas Glimpse Of Us by JOJI and This Hell by Rina Sawayama hit Nicole’s top ten. Then, Free by Florence + The Machine and Yet by Spacey Jane were among Ria’s favourites, and Dale’s picks included Passing Through by Sly Withers as well as Sitting Up by Spacey Jane.
If you’re not meeting at a mate’s place for the Hottest 100 countdown, there’s venues aplenty in Brisbane throwing events for you to sing along to your favourites and have a cheeky boogie while you’re at it. This includes a garden party at The Triffid, a backyard BBQ sindig at The Royal Albert Hotel, as well as an afterparty at Tomcat, and more.
The Hottest 100 will run on Saturday January 28th from 12pm AEST. The day before, Friday January 27th from 10am local time, Triple J will be playing the 200-100 songs of the countdown. Then on Sunday January 29 from 12pm AEST, Double J will play the Hottest 100 from 2002.
Voting is open for the Triple J Hottest 100 until January 23. Vote for your favourite songs here.
