The Scenic Rim provides a fantastic trip to the country without travelling too far from Brisbane. Hiking trails, farm visits, you name it. Now that spring is here and the wildflowers are in bloom, Scenic Rim Flower Farm is hosting some awesome events to put a well-deserved spring in your step. One of them is an Italian Dinner in the Wheat Field on Saturday, October 8, which is a very first for South East Queensland.
After your drive through the countryside, pull up at the farm, where you’ll be welcomed with a Negroni Sour on arrival, supplied by local Scenic Rim distillery Brasshound.
A long table will be set in the picturesque wheat field, where you’ll enjoy unrivalled mountain views as the sun sets.
The three-course Italian dinner is the work of executive chef Richard Ousby, so you can expect to have your taste buds tantalised into the evening.
To soundtrack your dining experience in the wheat field, local singer Helen Coleman will be there with plenty of live music.
Scenic Rim Flower Farm is running this event to raise funds for Open Eyes Global, an organisation that support Nepalese kids with eye cancer who need prosthetic eyes.
