It seems similar to a jetski or speedboat but looks like a race car from Fast & Furious. Come April, Jetcar will become the newest — and perhaps the most unique — way to explore the Gold Coast Broadwater and beyond.
This one-of-a-kind aquatic adventure is fully guided, so the tour group, after their safety induction and practice ride, will follow the guide in their Jetcars.
You can choose between and one-hour and two-hour tour, which both start in Gold Coast waters before tracking down south along the Nerang River.
The Jetcars can go up to 46 kilometres per hour and fit two people: the driver and a passenger. Shared drivers are only allowed on the two-hour tours, though, so if you’re on the shorter tour, you’ll have to stay in your assigned seats.
The tour company will provide life jackets, sunscreen and a water-tight container so that your belongings don’t get wet. And it’s recommended you wear comfortable clothing such as swimwear, shorts or a T-shirt, as well as sunglasses for those bright days.
A tour will cost $500 for one hour or $990 for two hours. So if you’re sharing a Jetcar with a friend, you can halve that cost.
Tours will commence on April 1.
