Home to wineries, hiking trails, lakes, country towns and even an annual sunflower festival, it’s no wonder the Scenic Rim was ranked among Lonely Planet’s top 10 destinations in the world in 2022. Luckily for us here in Brisbane, the diverse region is just over an hour’s drive from the city, making it a popular spot for weekend getaways. So if you’re looking for your next excuse to head to this beautiful part of the world, book a stay at the newly opened Moogie Glamp.
Located a stone’s throw from the utterly picturesque Lake Moogerah, Moogie Glamp is a home away from home amongst the gum trees, where you’ll get to sleep in your very own eco safari tent and wake up to the sound of birds.
This is far from your average tent, though — it’s huge, and decked out with a plush four-poster bed, indoor fireplace, kitchenette and a bathroom. There’s also a hammock to laze about in, where you can lie back and savour the slow life surrounded by nature.
The tent leads out onto a spacious deck, with a barbecue and bar-style seating for an alfresco cookup. You can opt to add on a breakfast hamper when booking, which includes an array of local produce, from bacon, eggs and sausages to mushrooms, greens, spinach and freshly baked bread.
Included in your stay is a cheese platter and local wine, which can be enjoyed by the outdoor fireplace at sunset before a session of stargazing.
The glamping site is on the same property as Moogie House, a 6-person holiday house with spectacular lake and mountain views, as well as the soon-to-open Moogie Pod, but it’s tucked away enough that it feels like you’ve got the whole place to yourself.
If you’ve always wanted to experience glamping, or you’re looking for your next romantic nature escape, this is your sign.
