There are plenty of hidden bars and restaurants around Brisbane, but only one where you have to venture through a wardrobe to get there, akin to the first of the Narnia series. Though, instead of ending up in the snowy woods, a rustic cocktail bar will be waiting for you on the other side. Welcome to Mrs J. Rabbits, the speakeasy bringing nostalgia to your next cocktail night.
Mrs J. Rabbits serves up a variety of delicious cocktails, all mixed to perfection. Everything from a smoky cognac cocktail called Mr Toad Motorcar to the fruity Cinderella-inspired Glass Slipper number. The drinks are served in tea cups and vintage glassware too, to fit the theme of course.
On the food menu, you can expect to find charcuterie boards to share as well as smaller bites such as chicken pate and shoestring fries. If you’re looking for a bigger feed, we recommend having dinner downstairs at Electric Avenue first before heading up to the bar.
To find Mrs J. Rabbits, head to the top floor of Electric Avenue in Wooloongabba, where you’ll see the old wardrobe with a padlock on it. You’ll need to ask the staff downstairs for the password, unlock the door, and step right through to “Narnia”.
