This month, a new Italian eatery is set to open up in South Bank, bringing with it Australia’s most extensive spritz list to date. Ovello provides a spacious dining experience, with a bar, two dining rooms and alfresco-style outdoor seating. So if you’re looking for a new spot to hang out with mates and get your refreshing spritz fix, this new joint will surely do the trick.
Opening on February 9 below Mantra South Bank, Ovello Bar + Kitchen serves up a slew of coastal Italian-inspired food and drinks, most notably their spritz menu, which has 14 varieties to choose from.

Some highlights on the menu include a lychee spritz made with pink gin, sparkling rosé, lychee fruit and topped with edible pink glitter and flowers, as well as the Dolce Vita spritz with Sexy Cat marshmallow liqueur, sparkling Moscato and vanilla, topped with fairy floss, mini marshmallows, and edible glitter. Yum!
But Ovello isn’t only home to the largest spritz menu – it also sports the most expensive spritz cocktail in the country, The Dutchess, priced at $299. This boujee bevvie is a perfect mix of Dom Perignon Champagne, rose liqueur and Turkish delight coated in a gold lustre. The fanciest drink to hit Brisbane? Perhaps.

When it comes to food, you can expect a delicious array of bites such as fresh calamari fritti, gooey burrata, spaghetti vongole, olive oil cake, hazelnut gelato, stone baked fresh pizza made with a 37-year-old mother dough, and plenty more.

You can find the eatery at 161 Grey Street, South Brisbane.
