Australia’s very first National Cat Convention, Oz Feline Fair & CATstravaganza is kicking off from Saturday, May 3 to Sunday, May 4 at the Brisbane Showgrounds. Cat owners and lovers of all ages are welcome to this celebration of all things feline, a spectacular cat pop culture event showcasing cats of all breeds, from fancy show felines to adorable rescue kitties!
It will feature a huge variety of exclusive and artisan stalls offering everything cat-related for cats and their humans including treats, toys and cat-themed merch, with the highlight being the CATstravaganza, aka celebrity cat judge and social media mega-star, Steven Meserve’s Loving Cats Worldwide (LCWW) International Cat Competition!
You can enter your furry friend into one of the following categories:
- Kittens (4 up to 6 months)
- Juniors (6 up to 10 months)
- Cats (10+ months)
- Alters (10+ months neutered/spayed)

Only 130 entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Steven Meserve will be hosting his TikTok famous Catwalk at the competition, providing interactive information sessions on Pedigreed Cats, with the opportunity for a Q&A. It will also be nature vs nurture at the CATstravaganza’s highlight, when Steven judges the Very Important Cat (VIC) and Very Important Kitten (VIK) classes on the Catwalk, with both Pedigreed and domestic kittens and cats competing against each other in these categories.
Plus, although no kittens or cats can be adopted at the event, rescue groups will also be in attendance an will introduce some of the adorable kitties they have available for adoption, and information will be provided on how you can support and get involved with your local rescue organisation.
Unfortunately, non-competing cats are not allowed into the event for the health and safety of the show cats, but with 130 participants, there’ll be no shortage of feline love to go around, and you can bring home all the know-how, treats and toys you can get for your own furball. For humans with a competitive spirit, there will also be a Cosplay Catwalk, where attendants can strut their stuff dressed up as kitties and showcase their costume design and making skills!
Tickets include access to the whole event including the cat show, marketplace and all presentations, but even if it costs a little extra, you won’t want to miss the meow-tstanding food and drink on offer, plus the artisan marketplace, Purr-Creations Alley, with specialised stalls of handcrafted, cat-related wares.
