It’s official — Providoor is back. Launched by Melbourne-based chef Shane Delia in 2020, this premium meal delivery service got us through the pandemic. It delivered over half a million gourmet meals in just 12 months, helping Melburnians try popular restaurants at home during the chaos of COVID-19. Now, it’s back with a new investor, a new team, and some excellent chefs and food personalities lending their support, like Matt Preston, Silvia Colloca, Anna Polyviou and more. The service will officially relaunch at 5pm on Monday October 23, in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Order restaurant-quality meals from Providoor Frozen and Providoor Local. Enjoy Silvia Colloca’s Lasagne, Gary Mehigan’s Moroccan Lamb Tagine, Matt Preston’s Mushroom Burger, Manu Feildel’s Coq au Vin, Justin Narayan’s Taco Family Kits, Anna Polyviou’s White Chocolate Cheesecake with Strawberry Basil Salad and more. Additional chefs and restaurant household names will be announced further in the future.
The meals will be pre-prepared in new Providoor kitchens throughout Sydney in Homebush, Five Dock, Neutral Bay and Moore Park. More kitchens will open in Melbourne and Brisbane in the near future.
In Sydney, orders through Providoor Frozen can by taken by midday for next day delivery. Meanwhile, orders in Melbourne and Brisbane will be delivered twice a week, with a three day lead time. Sydneysiders will also get to order freshly made Providoor Local meals through Uber Eats from Tuesday October 24.
The Providoor brand was acquired by Sam Benjamin, Founder and Managing Director of Sydney’s Seventh Street Ventures in April 2023.
“I was a customer and loved the original concept of Providoor,” said Benjamin. “I know we can breathe new life back into a brand that has such good sentiment. The demand is there and we are ready to meet it.”
Orders can be made from 5pm on October 23 here.
