Classic fish n chips is on all day at The Fish Shoppe, One Fish Two Fish’s pop-up venture that’s open from Tuesday to Saturday on the edge of Fortitude Valley. But that’s not all. They’ll also be serving up fancy seafood sandwiches, burgers and salads as well as a more fancy menu from 4pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. And, there are drinks too.
The Fish Shoppe menu is no indication that this open-air pop-up is temporary only. It’s loaded up with plenty of offerings, from salmon sashimi and salt and pepper calamari to battered, crumbed, grilled and even vegan fish n chip options. There are three seafood sangas to choose from but the must-try has to be the sand crab sandwich with lemon, tomato, cucumber and herb aioli.
Five salad bowls make the menu with the Hawaiian Poke bowl looking like it’s going to be a clear favourite. Even still, each one can be upgraded by adding Atlantic salmon sashimi, grilled Atlantic salmon, Mooloolaba prawns or hand-picked sand crab for extra flavour. You can even get a mid-morning egg and bacon burger if you’re hungry or go for the fish parma burger with flounder schnitzel, Napoli sauce and cheese for a tasty lunch.
For dessert, The Fish Shoppe is deep-frying Mars bars.
When it comes time to clock off, The Fish Shoppe is unlocking the Spritz Bar Menu where One Fish Two Fish’s famed Lobster Roll makes an appearance. The Western rock lobster is served with saffron mayo and burnt butter for a melt-in-your-mouth culinary delight. Oysters are also on the menu and so too are Portuguese spiced prawn skewers. If you’re two, grab the Seacuterie Platter for oysters, prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, prawns and more.
Wash it all down with a selection of beers, wines, bubbles, spirits and, in keeping with the One Fish Two Fish special on at the moment, five spritzes.
Keep an eye out as well as they’ll be serving up pre-packed picnic lunches and one-off events just like One Fish Two Fish.
