The Triffid, a cool refurbished WWII hangar in Newstead, is known for being the perfect home for live music and comedy. With a capacity for 800 people, plus an outdoor beer garden with a screen that can fit about the same crowd, this roomy space is the perfect setting for some live tunes and shows both national and international.
Its roster this year is as full of talent as ever with acts like The Rasmus, Rosebud Baker and Of Mice & Men, just to name a few. But that’s not the only highlight at The Triff! Their leafy beer garden has always been a favourite for long summer days and, being home to The Triffid Burger Co., you can pair your music with some of Brisbane’s best burgers and fried chicken, and they even have gluten-free and vegan options, so anybody can join the party.
Although instead of “anybody” maybe we should say anydoggy! As more and more Brisbanites choose to have pets, and thanks to our (mostly) lovely summer weather, dog owners are looking for spots to bring their pups for social outings. But even dog-friendly venues don’t always have food or treats for our fur babies.

Enter The Triffid Garden, where they can have their very own dish! This summer, Brissy dogs can enjoy their very own San Chow Bow Wow in this laidback area: a house-made dog patty wrapped in crisp lettuce — the lettuce is optional — from Thursday to Sunday. Best of all? It’s free for all four-legged friends!
With its sun-soaked and relaxed vibes, which are the perfect contrast to the buzzing energy that lights up the music venue at night, there’s nowhere better to spend a chill afternoon sharing a bite (metaphorically) with your best and furriest friend!
