Brisbane is home to plenty of incredible restaurants, but none (yet) that involve your feet hanging off the edge of a rooftop. But this is what’ll set Vertigo apart when it opens this October, becoming Brisbane’s most unique new dining experience.
Located 17-metres-high at Brisbane Powerhouse, Vertigo blends adventure and gastronomy all in one place. You’ll start the experience by removing everything from your pockets and placing it into a locker. This includes phones and cameras, which means you won’t be able to digitally capture the experience — but your memory sure will.
After being strapped in with a harness, you’ll climb down to your seat, which is suspended from a table on the side of the building.
Daring diners will get to enjoy epic city views, with a sheer drop beneath their feet.
As for the food, the top-notch chefs at Bar Alto will be serving up a delicious set menu complete with bay bugs, king prawns, burrata, chocolate caramel custard and more – all paired with wine for you to sip on sky high. The menu can be adapted to suit most dietary requirements, too, so vegan or coeliac thrill seekers don’t need to miss out.
Vertigo is a partnership between Brisbane Powerhouse and Riverlife, one of Brisbane’s most popular outdoor tourism operators.
The bold new dining experience is set to open in October 2023, with a cost of $250 per person and tables of two only. The menu can be adapted to suit most dietary requirements too.
