If you can’t make it down to Melbourne to watch the Australian Open live this year, do not worry, because some of Brisbane’s best venues are putting the games on their big screens and setting up themed decor, so you can catch all the action while you eat and sip.
We love our rooftop bars here in Brisbane, and one of our faves, South Bank’s Lina Rooftop, is the place to be if you want to be sky-high for the tennis games. Since Aperol is an official partner of the Australian Open this year, Lina Rooftop has turned its poolside space into a pop-up of orange hues, DJs, Aperol Spritzes and tasty bites, all while the tennis matches play on the big screen. They’ll also be hosting a huge lawn party on Sunday, January 28 for the grand final.
If being on the ground level is more your style, though, we recommend heading to Riverbar & Kitchen for waterfront views, tennis matches on the outdoor screens and more. The iconic riverside venue has extended their outdoor seating, and has also set up stylish bar carts and Amalfi-inspired decor.
Another great spot to join in on the Australian Open fun is Claw in Bowen Hills with their month-long summer laneway party decked out with backyard games, ping pong tables, totem tennis on the lawn, as well as seafood buckets, live bands, and of course, the games screened on the crab shack’s big TVs.
