Picking strawberries is one of the best things about spring, but now that the PYO season is winding down, you might think you have to wait until next year for some juicy berries… Wrong! Enter Stanthorpe, the coldest — and possibly the most charming — place in Queensland and their whimsical Berry Festival!
What began as a vision of a single woman, Amy Torrisi, back in 2021, has grown into a key event on our Queensland calendars, with over 1,500 attendees coming back year after year for the festival’s strawesome program.
What to expect
This year’s Stanthorpe Berry Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever. As every year, The Galley Stage, offers live cooking demos from professional chefs and free tastings. If you’re looking for something more on the savoury side though, The Paddock Stage will be firing up with Shank Bros BBQ, and eating comps like strawberries & cream (of course), and an epic Sausage Slam!
Their famous celebration cake will also be back, with people queuing just to get a mouth-watering slice of the strawberry-topped treat and, for those who are more hands-on, there’s a gourmet cookie bar, where you can craft your own sweet delight.

It’s not all eating though! Pay a visit to Berryland, whose interactive Berry Ponds invite kids to play with and squish some berries, and the magical Berry Trail will leave them in awe with its characters and light installations.
Add face painting, farm yard animals, roving entertainment, and more, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a berry memorable family day out!
