Naturally, Oktoberfest in Brisbane is a hoot – for us, that is. But what about our furry friends? Carseldine Markets has you and your canine covered with Barktoberfest, a festival dedicated to dogs.
The annual event is getting ready to raise the woof for the seventh year in a row on Saturday, October 14 from 6am to 12pm, with plenty of entertainment and treats for you and your pupper.
Take a stroll around the pet-focused market stalls before finding a spot in the spacious seating area to enjoy a gourmet feed, with both pet and human food available for purchase.
You can expect plenty of entertainment across the morning as well, including a dog fashion parade and a photo competition, with prizes on offer for the most paw-fect of pooches.
You’ll also get to witness Queensland’s first official dog wedding, between French bulldog, Piglet and Toy cavoodle, Leroy. These puppy sweethearts will tie the knot at the festival, alongside a customised 3-tier wedding cake and bridal party for good measure.
Dogs can stay hydrated throughout the festival, too, thanks to the puppy cool-down station from Animal Welfare League Queensland.
So if you want to enjoy a morning of free dog-themed events, market stalls, live music and entertainment, add Barktoberfest to your calendar.
For more information and to RSVP, head to the Facebook event page.
Think your pooch is the cutest of all them? Enter them into parade and photo competition.
You can find Carseldine Markets at 133 Dorville Rd, Carseldine.
