Naturally, Oktoberfest in Brisbane is a hoot – for us, that is. But what about our furry friends? Carseldine Markets has you and your canine covered with Barktoberfest, a festival dedicated to dogs. The annual event is getting ready to raise the woof for the seventh year in a row on Saturday, October 18 from 6am to 12pm, with plenty of entertainment and treats for you and your pupper.
Take a stroll around the over 150 pet-focused market stalls before finding a spot in the spacious seating area to enjoy a gourmet feed, with both pet and human food available for purchase. You can expect plenty of entertainment across the morning as well, including three annual competitions with prizes on offer for the most paw-fect of pooches.

First up, the Strike a Paws Dog Parade will let your pup unleash their inner barkshionista and leave it all on the dogwalk. If you’ve got a photogenic pooch, the Pawparazzi Photo Competition is yours to win. From action shots to adorable poses, you never know what pawsome prize you might get. Finally, if your furry friend wants to show they’re more than just a pretty face, you can enter them in the Pawsome Performers competition, where they can show off any clever tricks or quirky skills they’ve learned!
For more information and to RSVP (it’s free entry!), head to the Facebook event page.
Think your pooch is the cutest and smartest of them all? Enter them into the parade, photo or performance competition!
You can find Carseldine Markets at 133 Dorville Rd, Carseldine.
