Bitter never tasted so good. Negroni Week, a celebration of the world’s most sophisticated cocktail celebration, is back from September 22 to September 28, and Queensland’s best bartenders are ready to raise their glasses (and their garnishes) in support of Slow Food, a global charity fighting for a fairer, more sustainable food system.
Although this is a worldwide party, nowhere will it be more “stoonin'” than in Brisbane’s buzzing Fish Lane precinct, where more than a dozen venues will serve up creative riffs on the iconic gin, vermouth, and Campari cocktail, to satisfy any and all palates!
What to expect
Each participating venue will showcase its own take on the classic cocktail, blending craftsmanship, creativity, and cause into one spirited afternoon. From chocolate-infused twists to coconut-kissed concoctions, the week promises plenty of flavour, whether you’re more on the bitter or sweet side of things.
Some of the cocktails and offers you can expect are:
- A four-course Negroni & Friends Dinner at Midtown on September 24
- Chocolonely Negroni for those with a sweet tooth and a two-day pop-up bar at Bar Brutus on September 26 and 27
- Kingston Negroni, a tropical take on the classic cocktail featuring coconut milk from Hello Please
- A rich, indulgent Salted Chocolate Negroni or a zesty Yuzu & Cucumber Negroni at Next Episode
- Brine & Dandy Negroni, paired with outdoor happy hour sessions at Chu the Phat
- Other unique versions from Julius, Kiki Kiosk, Maker, Maeve, and Tarbouche
What’s new this year
Nothing pairs better with a negroni than a bit of sophistication and intellectualism so, this year one of the highlights of the celebration will be the “Secret Handshake” Art & Negroni Trail through Fish Lane on Saturday, September 27.
Wander the hip laneway’s urban oasis of greenery, striking public artworks and iconic red-brick architecture, while enjoying Negroni-inspired creations from some of Brisbane’s most passionate bartenders and restaurateurs, and feel like the most interesting version of yourself — monocle not included.

All for a good cause
You can sip and feel good as you do, because every negroni sold on Negroni Week contributes to Slow Food, which supports projects in Queensland and beyond that champion biodiversity, local producers, and access to good, clean, fair food for all!
