As more and more people seek a healthier lifestyle and get tired of dating apps, alternatives for partying and places to potentially meet someone are a hot commodity. And few places have risen to the occasion as much as the humble coffee shop. Swapping late nights for early mornings and martinis for macchiatos, but keeping the beats and vibes, café raves may just be the thing that keeps party culture alive!
That is what Rise and Vibe, presented by King St and AM Social, is all about. Transforming one of King Street’s most beloved bakeries, last year’s newcomer Queen Amann Bakery, into a high energy dancefloor, this early morning celebration of movement and connection will be a one-off café rave experience in the heart of the precinct.
The rave will feature acclaimed DJs Talisha and Teeks, joined by fast rising electronic act Kinder Sounds, whose textured, feel-good sound has been gaining serious momentum across Australia’s dance scene, delivering an early-hours electronic set powered by caffeine instead of cocktails.
This global movement, which emerged in Europe and has since taken hold in cities including Paris, London and New York, has only gained traction in the last year thanks to TikTok and to the parties’ underground vibe, since you often have to be “in the know” to find out about them.

Often described as “soft clubbing”, they trade late nights and alcohol for music, movement and connection, offering all the energy, excitement and possibility of a night out, without the hangover, and all before midday, so you can still do heaps of things after.
This shift towards daytime dance culture reflects a broader move towards alcohol-free socialising, particularly among Gen Z audiences. According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, alcohol consumption among young people continues to decline, with 16.3% having never consumed a full glass of alcohol.
Nicholas and Cameron Stallard, Founders of AM Social said, “We’re beyond excited to bring our signature ‘soft clubbing’ experience to King St for our biggest morning party yet.”
Reflecting on the unique atmosphere of the event, featured artist DJ Teeks noted “For me AM Social brings an entirely new experience for not only the attendees, but the artists too.”
And Queen Amann Bakery owner Larry Lim, explained the appeal, “Bakeries are already social spaces. Adding music just amplifies what’s already there. A café rave feels like a modern take on community — and we’re excited to be part of bringing that to Brisbane.”
