The future is looking bright for the stages of Brisbane – there are musicals and concerts popping up all over the place, notably: The Mary Poppins Musical, Spilt Milk, Fridayz Live featuring Akon, TLC, and Maklemore (to name a few), and good old Ed Sheeran who’s comin’ down early next year. Joining the line-up of funky things to do and see is the acclaimed rock drama, Rolling Thunder Vietnam.
Written by Bryce Hallett, directed by David Berthold, and music arrangement Chong Lim AM, the Rolling Thunder Vietnam is a certified emotion-provoking production. It combines great rock classics of the 60s and 70s, uses captivating video footage across four gigantic screens, and displays heartfelt storytelling inspired by interviews with Vietnam War veterans and actual letters. At the production’s heart is a love story of courage, longing and resilience.
The Rolling Thunder Vietnam production will belt out timeless and unforgettable rock songs, including classics by Steppenwolf, Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Gladys Knight, Billy Thorpe, and Paul Simon – it’ll be hard not to tap your feet or hum along, to say the least.
