Do you hear what I hear? The Queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey, is thawing as we speak and we can feel the magic of the silly season in the air. In the next 55 days, Brissy will dress up in tinsel and twinkling lights in the lead up to Christmas 2025 and, like every year, there are heaps of magical events and activities happening all over the city.
From stunning light displays, to magical festive markets, to comforting traditional food and mouth-watering treats, it really is the most wonderful time of the year, even for the Grinchiest among us. Here is some of what you can expect for Christmas in Brisbane in 2025.
Christmas 2025 events in Brisbane
This special time of the year deserves all the music, entertainment, lights and cheer that we can muster, and our city never disappoints. While still a bit too early to know every event that will be coming back this year (and maybe discover new ones), here are some of the ones confirmed to be returning in 2025.
All of Brissy will be captivated, like every year, by the lights and 22-metre Christmas tree towering over St George Square. Queen Street Mall will also be dressing up for the occasion and, although this year’s show is TBA, with its amazing décor, outstanding shops, yummy restaurants and seasonal treats, there is more than enough Christmas cheer to go around.
When it comes to shopping, another top choice are Westfield destinations, especially if you want to take a photo with the man himself! Or, if you’re looking for more of an outing, you can’t miss all the amazing Christmas markets that will soon start popping up all around.

Like other years, you’ll want to keep an eye out for art installations, like the iconic tiny doors that pop up all over the city, offering glimpses into magical, imaginative worlds. Or you can watch the best of the silly season come to life at a Christmas show, like The Greatest Christmas Show at BCEC, or the classic of all classics, The Nutcracker at QPAC.
What other exciting festive events are TBA?
We expect plenty of other things to do for Christmas in Brisbane to be announced. From unforgettable countdowns and community carols to luxurious Christmas brunches, romantic seasonal activities, otherworldly installations, Christmassy concerts, NYE parties, and much more, you can expect heaps of fun under the Christmas tree! Check out last year’s list for potential returning Christmas 2025 events in Brisbane.
