Looking for a little something different this Christmas? The silly season is getting the fringe treatment thanks to the team behind Wynnum Fringe for a whole month with Wynnum Wonderland Christmas Festival!
Following the success of the whimsical festival earlier this year, the Augathella Spiegeltent is welcoming a wonderland celebration of festive fun, food, twilight markets and phenomenal entertainment that has something for everyone!
Starting with Cirque Du Sleigh from November 28, this edgy show will make the bayside sparkle a little brighter with its daring combination of music, cabaret and circus turning Bay Terrace into a joyful and cheeky hub of festive entertainment. This isn’t your average holiday show — it’s Christmas gone wild!
A cast of bold stars will offer an adults-only night of circus, cabaret and chaos that’s anything but nice. Expect flips, glitter, and more naughtiness than Santa’s list can handle! Cirque Du Sleigh is a fast, funny, and saucy festive feast that’ll have jaws dropping and collars hot.
Another one for the adults, comedy legend Dave Hughes is bringing his show WTF to the tent for one night only on December 10. Embrace the jolliness of the season with one of the GOATs of comedy, whose natural charm and unmistakably Aussie humour will have you rolling!
Then again, the summer holidays are just around the corner, so if you’re looking for ways to keep the little ones entertained, there is plenty of family fun to be had too! From December 13, you’ll be spoilt for choice, with All Star Circus’s graceful aerialists, amazing acrobats and hilarious slapstick comedy sure to delight people of all ages; Kaboom: Christmas Chaos Edition will bring science to life, and Bubble Show in Space will fill the tent with joy.
There will also be plenty of musical moments to share, such as Carols in the Spiegeltent on December 17, which invites audiences to a night of Christmas classics with some of Australia’s finest voices. Or, if you’re the participatory type, Wynnum Wonderland Singalong will give you the opportunity to join Tom Oliver for a joyful community singalong on December 18.
As if all this wasn’t enough, every Friday and Saturday night, you’ll be able to browse the magical Twilight Christmas Markets, plus an outdoor rooftop bar for those summer sundowners!
Practical information
Wynnum Wonderland Christmas festival will take place from November 28 to December 22.
The Twilight Christmas Markets will run every Friday and Saturday from December 5 to December 20, from 4:30pm to 7:30pm.
